FOR FINE GRINDING PROCESSES IN WET MEDIA SUCH AS DISPERSION, SUSPENSION, EMULSIFICATION AND HOMOGENISING TO PRODUCE STABLE EMULSION TO SUB-MICRON RANGES. A UNIT OF WIDE RANGING APPLICATIONS IN PHARMACEUTICAL, CHEMICAL, FOOD PROCESSING, COSMETICS, PAINT, INK, RUBBER, POLYURETHANE FOAM AND OTHER INDUSTRIES.
With a stainless steel grinding head, consists of a grooved, conical stator in which the material is 'forced through'. While passing through the annular gap between the conical stator and the rotor, the material is subjected to hydro-dynamic forces. The resultant fluid shear causes shearing, transverse friction, accelerating forces and compression waves of high frequency thus achieving very fine milling action on the product.
Due to the different cone angles adopted, the annular gap between the stator and the rotor narrows towards the discharge end. This annular clearance can be infinitely varied even while the machine is in operation to achieve the desired degree of fineness required for the product.
The universal colloid mill has an in-built pumping system to re-circulate the product into the hopper and through the grinding head repeatedly until the level of homogenization required is achieved.
Hopper and re-circulation assemblies are jacketed for temperature control.
